I recently gained a pen pal. I was so excited to receive my first letter and impressed beyond words that it inspired me to (try to) rise to the occasion. In doing so, I found these fun cards with random questions on them, empowering questions. I thought that would be fun to write about here, so here goes nothing!
My first card asks: “What or who am I beneath all my roles?”
Let’s see. I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, notary public and an assistant paralegal.
Beneath all of that, I’m just ME. I love to giggle and be silly. I have always loved the song by Bobby Mc Ferrin, ‘Don’t worry, be happy’ and try to remember that when I’m stressed over worrying. I take joy in alllllll of the little things. I’m loyal and fiercely protective. I love helping people. I’m stubborn with a temper quick to flare. I love learning, about a variety of topics — typically something that peaks my interest wherein I realize I don’t know nearly enough and I’m fascinated with the subject and MUST know more. I’m always on a search for knowledge. At the moment I’m learning how to be a better plant parent and loving it. I’m a neat freak and I enjoy cleaning. I also love to be organized, or helping others organize. Rearranging furniture, yeah! Literally, I will come help you organize. For fun. I’m quirky, what can I say? I love reading, so much, thanks to my mother and grandmother. I’m obsessed with Outlander, thanks to one of my closest friends who insisted that I read the series in the early 2000’s. I love pens. I’m lucky that every year when the Pen Fair comes in November my sweet hubby takes me to the fair and buys me a new, fun pen. I’m not perfect, but I’m always striving to improve the person that I am. I’m overly sensitive and I truly care, about so many things. If I can bring a smile to one person’s face each day, life is good.
